Tom Thiel Trio
Laid-Back Americana Blues Rock
A Wisconsin folk-blues-rock trio led by WAMI award winning songwriter Tom Thiel. Known for his time as lead guitarist with the rock band Boxkar, Thiel has performed in clubs around the country including the Viper Room in Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafes in Chicago and Punta Cana, and an inaugural ball in Washington D.C. Together with drummer Patrick Wydeven and bassist Jeremy Rechner, the band plays their own style of laid-back Wisconsin blues-tinged rock.
The new record “Waiting on the Weather” was released in the fall of 2025. Vinyl records available as of March 2026!

“Led Zeppelin may be an odd comparison for an artist whose music is in the Americana/folk rock realm. But on songs like “Minneapolis Moline,” “Road Back Home,” “Turn This Car Around,” Thiel shows the kind of ability to create attention-getting acoustic guitar riffs or fingerpicked sequences Zep brought to songs like “Over the Hills and Far Away,” “Going to California” or “Bron-Y-Aur Stomp.” - ALAN SCULLEY
“Tom reminds me of Steve Earl at times, and in some moments it sounds like Bono singing for Led-Zeppelin! Thiel definitely has stories to tell and he relates them really well.”
